On October 2, the University of Lisbon will host the international event “Exploring Biosignals & Human Behavior”, a meeting aimed at deepening the understanding of how physiological data is transforming the way we comprehend human behavior.
Jointly organized by Plux, iMotions, the Portuguese Academy of Neuroarchitecture (APN), and the European project eMOTIONAL Cities, this gathering will bring together science, technology, and design with the purpose of demonstrating how biosignals can be applied in fields as diverse as neuromarketing, user experience (UX), architecture, and urban planning.

Targeted at researchers, architects, designers, UX and marketing professionals, neuroscientists, urban planners, ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) specialists, and anyone interested in the intersection of human behavior, design, and biosignal technologies, the event will also feature a practical component in its program. The organizers consider this “essential, as it takes the experience beyond theory. Participants will be able to experiment with biosensors, design simple experiences, and observe real-time data collection. This makes the technology tangible, develops practical skills, and reinforces how biosignals can be directly applied in professional contexts.”
As for expectations, the organizers aim for this to be a moment of knowledge exchange, providing not only direct contact with the latest biosignal technologies but also the opportunity to build a collaborative research community. “At the end of the day, we hope each participant will leave with: a new understanding of how biosignals reveal human behavior, inspiration to apply these tools in their professional fields, practical knowledge in using biosensors, and a network of contacts with experts and peers committed to innovation centered on human experience.”
